Distinguished Lecture Series presents
Julie Chavez Rodriguez: The Challenges of Immigration Reform
October 10, 7:30pm lecture, Union Ballroom. Reception following in the Union Art Gallery
Julie Chavez Rodriguez, granddaughter of labor leader and civil rights activist César Chávez, is the Programs Director for the Cesar E. Chavez Foundation where she has worked since November 2000. Having been exposed to the farm worker movement at an early age, Rodriguez has taken an active role throughout her life in advocating for social justice and fighting for the rights of working people. Like her grandfather, Rodriguez believes that “the end of all education should surely be service to others.” Rodriguez will speak on the challenges of immigration reform. Join us in the Union Art Gallery after the lecture for a reception with Julie Chavez Rodriguez.
