Earth Week
April 21-April 25, Union Concourse and Spaights Plaza

Tuesday, April 22, 2008 is the 38th Earth Day, a national celebration founded by Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson in 1970. Join Union Programming, the Environmental Sustainability Committee, the Union Art Gallery, and student organizations Sierra Student Coalition, Ecotone and WISPIRG in a week long celebration of Mother Earth. Each day will include new displays and activities that will engage and educate you about issues related to recycling and waste management, water, energy and more. Look for hybrid car displays, bicycle tune ups, recycled art projects, organic food and much more. Concern for the environment crosses boundaries of politics, religion, race, and economics, engaging us all in the effort to preserve the natural world, now and for future generations. Come Share the Earth during Earth Week!
