The Foundations program provides first-year visual art students with a broad background in basic drawing, 2D & 3D concepts and the digital arts. It is a time of artistic and personal development, and both film and visual art first-year students will exhibit work created during their initial year of study at UWM.
Each year there is a general theme to structure assignments around. This year's theme is hybrid. Students create objects that feature this theme in the collection of their works by interpreting various ways in which a hybrid is created, through the combining, mixing, or crossing of two or more different entities or elements, with the intent of achieving a particular objective or goal.
