Day of the Dead ( El Día de los Muertos )

October 30 –November 3

Union Concourse

The Mexican holiday, Día de los Muertos celebrates the idea of unity between life and death, emphasizing death as a part of the cycle of life. This year in honor of the holiday we have invited two artists, Rosa Zamora & Ximama Soza to create altars based on the Dia de los Muertos traditions. Along with these two altars will be two community installations created by the elementary students from La Escuela Fratney and Divine Mercy schools. These altars and installations will be on display from October 30-November 2 in the UWM Student Union Concourse.

Co-sponsored by the Roberto Hernandez Center.
