Setting IE6 back to your Default Browser

Step 1

Go to the Start button and then click on Control Panel. Double click on the Internet Options icon.

Step 2

In the Internet Properties Window, select the Programs tab. There at the bottom, make sure there is a check in the box "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser". Click Apply and then OK

Step 3

Now Open Internet Explorer and a small window will appear. Uncheck the small square so it would not appear every time Internet Explorer is run. Click YES to make Internet Explorer your default browser.

Note: If the small window does not appear when Internet Explorer starts it is because Internet Explorer is already your default browser.
