Meal Plans:

Meal plans are offered to any students living in university managed housing. The plans are mandatory for students living in the North, South, and West Towers of the Sandburg Dorms, and are optional for students in Purin Hall and Sandburg’s East Tower. There are 6 different Meal Plan Levels, all of which include a charge per semester that will cover administrative and overhead costs. Additional amounts may be added at any time and if there are any funds remaining at the end of the semester or year, they will be credited to the resident’s account or refunded (less a $10 processing fee). The administrative charge is not refundable.

You are entitled to purchase as much as you wish in Sandburg at a 50% discount from regular prices (selected items may not receive a full 50% discount). Meals are a la carte and you may eat as much or as little as you wish, paying only for the items you select at each meal. Points on your card may be used at other campus Restaurant Operation's restaurants at regular prices. As a Resident Account card holder, you do not pay sales tax on your purchases. Only the resident pictured on the card is eligible to use the card; however, purchases may be made for others as long as the resident is present.

Meal plan use is as individual as our students. It is recommended you consider your eating habits in advance and choose a level of participation which you think best suits your eating habits. It is recommended that residents start with Meal Plan 4. We find that most of our residents are able to meet their needs with Meal Plan 3 or 4.
