Warren Scherer - Program Coordinator

Hello I am Warren Scherer and I am the Assistant Director for the LGBT Resource Center - I joined the staff in August of 2008. Originally from Richmond, I have called Milwaukee home since 2004.  I enjoy traveling, soccer, comics, all things sour, and I consider myself a foodie & wannabe-chef.  One of the things I like most about the work I do is the conversation about marginalized communities including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) communities & culture not to mention the education that goes hand in hand with the convo.  I seek learnable/teachable moments, especially when it comes to being inclusive.

I like to meet new students, so feel free to stop by the office or contact me directly at wscherer@uwm.edu

I have been working at both the LGBT Resource Center and the First Year Center since Fall of 2008. Reading is my favorite past time, and if you are ever looking for a good laugh (or a groan in some cases) I'm really good at making dumb jokes :) Or if you ever want to see a picture of my fuzzy ball of love named Boris (he's a cat), feel free to stop in.
