Bayleigh Ackman - Education Coordinator

Hello, I'm Bayleigh! I am an Education Coordinator at the UWM LGBT Resource Center.  I'm currently a Women's Studies and LGBT Studies student. I'm intrigued by and love talking about sexuality, individuality, sex and gender, along with various other social constructs. I run on sarcasm and cupcakes, and am shamelessly addicted to coffee.  I love reading, learning, and getting tattooed.  I love working at the LGBT Resource Center because of the inclusive environment it offers, and the positive mental attitude my co-workers and students who frequent the center encourage in me.  So, come talk to us! We'd love to have you! :)

Emily Parker - Executive Assistant

Hey! My name is Emily and I am an Executive Assistant at the UWM LGBT Resource Center.  I’m a Women’s Studies major and LGBT Studies Certificate student.  I enjoy exploring how sex, gender, and sexuality are constructed and understood.  I’m always up for candidly discussing sexual fluidity, gender identity/expression, camp, LGBT+ culture, and social justice. I worship queerness and the infinite beauty it brings to my life!

The LGBT Resource Center provides a diverse and inclusive space for all UWM students. My co-workers are wonderful, our programming is amazing, and the student regulars are awesome.  You should probably stop in and be a part of the positive energy!

Erica Winship - Publicity Coordinator

Hello World! My name is Erica Winship and I am the publicity coordinator for the LGBTRC, mostly what I do around here is make designs so you guys are aware of what's going on with our center. It is my last year here and my major is cross-disciplinary between graphic design and printmaking. I really like cats, video games, crafts, naps, anime, and food. I am always happy and most people find me to be kind of weird, but I'm okay with that. I usually drink a lot of energy drinks and coffee, I like to meet new people and hear everyone's story. I love being in an environment with so many unique people, stop and say hi to me!

I intend on obtaining my masters in social work as well as my JD with my area of concentration being family law, healthcare, or corporate law. I love love love to dance, I have a jaw that loves to yap and I love being in the midst of people. I plan on changing the world with my intern at RJC (reproductive justice collective) for women's rights as well as being educated and educating on LGBT related issues on campus, in my community and ultimately all over the world.

I'm Ari, a recently-hired Education Coordinator at the LGBT Center and second-year Biochemistry student. I am a staunch advocate for advancing UWM's policies to make the university a more inclusive place for trans * gender, genderqueer, and intersex folks! I have been active in queer social justice work since I was fifteen, and am proud to be part of a campus community dedicated to ensuring the free expression and celebration of LGBT+ identities. I am also: an avid reader, an aspiring physician, a spoken word poet, a sushi fanatic, a prototypical ENTP, and a terrible karaoke singer.

Tou Fong L. - Executive Assistant

My name is Tou Fong L. I am currently a Freshmen and a Clinical Psychology Major. I am the Communications Coordinator here at the LGBT Resource Center. I love to run, read, and I also dance ballet. Most of the time I am pretty laid back and chill. I find that life keeps going if you relax. I love to drink Lipton Tea. My favorite color is brown because it represents self discipline, self awareness, and calmness. Often times, as a homosexual man from an Asian American family, I find it hard to find a color in the rainbow. One of my main goals in life is finding a way for other Asian American people to be part of my Brown and feel fabulous in life! In just 10 years, I hope to have a Ph D in Psychotherapy.
