Neighborhoods Around Campus
- Eastside - The Upper East Side of Milwaukee, home to UWM, is a lively mix of single-family homes, duplexes, and apartment buildings. Stores, movie theaters, restaurants, education centers, parks, and night spots are within walking distance, and many more recreational and cultural options are accessible by bus.
- Riverwest - Located directly west of the Milwaukee River, Riverwest offers affordable housing within a cultured atmosphere. Every year, approximately 1,000 UWM students live here.
- Shorewood - Nestled north of UWM, Shorewood is a quaint, residential living area. Several shops, restaurants, county park, and a spectacular beach make Shorewood a beautiful area.
- Downtown - Located within the heart of Milwaukee's nightlife scene. There are many professional sporting events, summer festivals, and concerts.
- Brady Street - This historical neighborhood is located between Lake Michigan and the Milwaukee River, just north of downtown. It is an eclectic mix of restaurants, specialty shops, and coffee houses. Brady Street is also famous for its nightlife and music.
