A helpful page of resources for long-term and permanent residents in the area. This includes information on landlords, neighborhood associations, the university, properties for sale, and local government (3rd aldermanic district).

Complaint Form

Are you having issues with your neighbors? What about a landlord? Report it here so that the Neighborhood Housing Office, COAST Leaders, and Neighborhood Relations can follow-up.

Neighborhood Association

There are nine Neighborhood Associations surrounding the immediate campus area. Each of them also sends a representative to UNA (University Neighborhood Associations).

Drug Houses

“Drug houses” are homes that are used for the production of illegal drugs, such as methamphetamines, marijuana, and cocaine.  Due to the hazardous chemicals used and the fire hazards posed, drug houses are a serious threat to the community. You can look through this handout to find out more information about how to detect a drug house and what to do if you suspect one in your community.

US Census Cautions!

Be Cautious About Giving Info to Census Workers. With the U.S. Census process beginning, the Better. Business Bureau (BBB) advises people to be cooperative, but cautious, so as not to become a victim of fraud or identity theft. The first phase of the 2010 U.S. Census is under way as workers have begun verifying the addresses of households across the country.

University Relations

This link takes you to UWM’s University Relations homepage. From here, you can navigate to different government sites, including public records and government relations. Contact information for the University’s Neighborhood Liaison, Oscar Perez, is located under the Neighborhood Relations link. University Relations will list rental units for faculty and staff in UWM neighborhoods, which they define as north to Capitol Drive, south to Brady Street, West to Holton, and east to the lake.

3rd District Alderman

Milwaukee’s third district is headed by Alderman Nik Kovac. His homepage has myriad resources, including a district map and committees the alderman currently serves on.

Become familiar with regulations, events, and issues in your neighborhood(s).

Animal-Friendly Houses

Many animals are surrendered to animal shelters each year because their guardians have difficulty finding rental properties for them. This list identifies apartments in the Metro-Milwaukee area that are "Animal-Friendly." You can visit their website to view this list or have your property added. This list is prepared by the Wisconsin Humane Society to be used as a tool for tenants and property managers and is a free service.

This section contains information on homes and condominiums currently for sale in the immediate UWM campus area directed at students, parents, and faculty staff.
