Parents

A helpful page of resources for parents and families of student’s currently living on- or off-campus. This includes information on average rent, safety, transportation, landlord complaints, roommate issues, and housing for sale near campus.

Average Rent Information

Average rents are calculated every other Friday, throughout the course of the year. Separate calculations for studio/efficiency, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units are available. We recommend students not seek housing for the following school year until after spring break, when prices begin to drop significantly.

Safety

Safety is a main concern of all students, parents, faculty, and neighbors in the UWM community. In this section you will find information on the S.A.F.E. program, B.O.S.S., UW Police, and the City of Milwaukee Police Department.

Transportation

Find out everything you need to know about how to get around the City of Milwaukee, maneuver around the UWM community, discounted rental cars through the University, and a variety of cheap options to travel long distances. Visit UWM's Parking and Transit website for additional information regarding transit options, campus visits, and daily parking needs.

Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

Basic rules that are followed by all UWM faculty, staff, and student workers regarding personal student information.
