A helpful page for any UWM student who is looking to move off-campus, looking for a new rental unit, or is moving to the UWM area. This page includes entire rental units listed from a variety of private landlords and property management companies, students looking to sublease their entire units or room, and other students who may be looking for housing and roommates.
Properties and people listed on the Neighborhood Housing website are NOT inspected or approved by UWM. Please use the listings at your own discretion. We suggest you check your landlord/property management company on Wisconsin Circuit Court Access and your property address with the Department of Neighborhood Services.
Additionally, the City of Milwaukee Occupancy Ordinance States: No more than three unrelated people are allowed to occupy one dwelling unit, regardless of the number of bedrooms, unless the landlord has a "Rooming House License." Violation of this, or any law, can result in eviction.
In this section you will be able to search for available rental units in a variety of neighborhoods around the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. You will be able to find rental units and property information for studios, one, two, or three bedroom rental units, including pictures and 360° virtual tours.
The Neighborhood Housing Office wants to ensure the highest quality landlords and properties for all UWM students. Therefore, all landlords that use our listing service are required to attend the City of Milwaukee Department of Neighborhood Services Landlord Training program.
Within the Property Search you will be able to view three different kinds of rental listings: landlord rental units, subleases and rooms for rent. Landlord listings are listings that are posted directly through a landlord or property manager. Subleases are a good place to start your housing search if you will be looking for a short term (less than 12 months) lease. You will be able to browse rental units that students are looking to sublease. These units will be ENTIRE rental units, not just individual rooms. The Rooms for Rent section is a good place to start your housing search if you are looking for both housing and a roommate(s) all in one search. They are all individual rooms in a larger rental property.
Whether you are a first year student coming to UWM, a current student looking to meet new people, a transfer student, or a non-traditional student there are plenty of other UWM students looking for someone to live with. In this section you can find a listing of other students who are looking for a roommate(s).
Whether you live on around the Universtity or commute and need somewhere to park this is the section for you. You will be able to browse available off-street parking spaces that are within walking distance to campus.
In order to ensure the highest quality landlords it is important to get feedback from previous tenants. In this section you can view other people’s experiences and feedback or you can post your own feedback on your current or past landlord.
