NHO Policies and Procedures
1. The online listing service is available for UWM students, faculty, and staff. It was created by the Student Association and continues to be supported through segregated fees.
2. The properties and people listed are neither inspected nor approved by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
3. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee does not screen the people who list properties, rooms for rent, and/or roommate ads. Those who choose these services do so at their own risk. Please use precautions when searching.
4. The NHO does not operate as a real estate agent setting up and showing you specific units. We do, however, make suggestions based upon individuals needs.
5. The Neighborhood Housing Office reserves the right to not list any advertisement or person for any reason.
6. Federal and State Fair Housing Laws make it illegal in fact or intention to advertise any preferences, limitation or discrimination based upon race, color, religion, sex, familial status, national origin, ancestry, marital status, sexual orientation, lawful source of income, age or handicap or intention to make any such preference, limitation, or discrimination. We will not knowingly accept any advertisement for real estate which is in violation of the law.
