In this year’s 40th Annual Juried Exhibition, Milwaukee student artists present work in a variety of mediums. This exhibition will be juried by professionals who will award prizes to exhibiting artists at the opening reception. This exciting annual event showcases the best work of local, emerging student artists from universities and colleges in the Milwaukee metro area.

Uprisings: Images of Labor

Uprisings: Images of Labor is a collaborative and interactive printmaking exhibition based upon themes of labor, brought to the Union Art Gallery by the committed artists of the Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative. The exhibit features an interactive print factory and a fascinating, two-day series of artist lectures in conjunction with the Southern Graphics Council International Printmaking Conference taking place throughout Milwaukee March 20th through 23rd.

The First Year Program in Art and Design at Peck School of the Arts, UWM provides all first-year art students with a broad background in basic drawing, 2-D and 3-D concepts, and the digital arts. It also helps them develop an understanding of contemporary art practice and exposure to various major options. The first year is a time of artistic and personal development during which students choose their areas of concentration and begin to see themselves becoming practitioners in their fields.

Septentrion: Exploring the Arctic Circle

SEPTENTRION explores the work of seven participants of The Arctic Circle artist residency. The residency brings together artists, scientists, architects, and interdisciplinary collaborators annually for a three-week assembly of innovation in an unlikely setting: the tall ship 'Antigua' in the Arctic.
