Union: Art Gallery
November 15 - December 13
Fully Furnished showcases contemporary innovations and techniques in furniture making. These innovative designs are not what they seem; all objects have the potential to speak well beyond their apparent use or appearance. This incredible exhibition demonstrates how a chair can be as much of a commentary on human existence as it is a place to sit. Everyday objects take on a life of their own as regional and national artists gather to show their original works.
September 20 - October 11
The Union Art Gallery is proud to host the fourth exhibition of The Exquisite Uterus Project: Finding Equal Ground. This exhibition is a fantastic collection of 200+ fiber and mixed-media artworks from across the nation which give voice to the pressing issues of our time relating to reproductive healthcare for all women.
April 5 – April 12
Crossing Over showcases work by undergraduate and graduate students in the UWM Peck School of the Arts Department of Visual Art who received scholarship and fellowship awards in 2013. The high-caliber artwork produced by these emerging artists covers a wide variety of mediums and topics.
August 26 - Sept 13 2013
Fresno-based documentary photographer Joel Pickford brings us photographs from a portfolio spanning 8 years of study and reflection with the Hmong community. This incredible exhibition, in three sections and 45 photographs, shines a light on the culturally rich traditions of the Hmong community as new arrival refugees to the US, as established Hmong-Americans, and the connection back to life in Laos.
