Food Day and Hooping for Hoop Houses - 12-2pm – Spaights Plaza (bad weather location - lobby of the UWM Theater, between the Art and Music buildings)

Food Day - It's all about food today at UWM! Community food organizations and campus food partners will be tabling with information about the great work being done on our campus and in the city to get everyone fresh, healthy, local food. Community organizations are open to internships with students, so if you're looking for a summer opportunity that helps people eat healthier food, there could be an organization present here for you to work with!

Hooping for Hoop Houses - A fun, high energy event! Hula hoopers will compete to see who can hoop the longest. Sponsors have pledged per minute to raise money for a hoop house on UWM's campus so we can compost, diverting food waste from the waste stream and building our soil for the campus gardens. Come watch the show! If you want to hoop, contact Laura Stevens at steven73@uwm.edu.

Chasing Ice

Share the Earth Environmental Film Series
Wed., May 8 7pm

Chasing Ice is the story of one man’s mission to change the tide of history by gathering undeniable evidence of our changing planet. Within months of his first, eye-opening trip to Iceland, National Geographic photographer, James Balog, conceived the boldest expedition of his life: The Extreme Ice Survey. With a band of young adventurers in tow, Balog began deploying revolutionary time-lapse cameras across the brutal Arctic to capture a multi-year record of the world’s changing glaciers.

Winner of the Sundance Film Festival 2012 Excellence in Cinematography Award (U.S. Documentary) and the Full Frame 2012 Environmental Award.
