Winner of the Special Award - Silver Bear at the 62nd Berlin International Film Fest ival and Switzerland’s submission for Best Foreign Film at the 85 th Academ y Awards 2013, Sister is set in a Swiss ski resort high up in the Alps and centered on a boy who supports his sister by stealing from wealthy guests. A fresh, contemporary look at a story of the poor young kid out o f his element at an expensive vacation resort. Meier’s knack for understate ment and her deliberate pacing allow her to weave elements of social commen tary, allegory, and family drama together into a substantial and absorbin g film.< /p>

    Milwaukee Premiere

(Rick Alverson, USA, 90 min, video, 2012)

Tran sgressively brilliant, The Comedy is a dark critique of entitlemen t starring avant-garde comedian Tim Heidecker as one of Williamsburg's over privileged. Indifferent to the notion of inheriting his father's estate, he passes the time with his friends, playing games of mock sincerity and i rreverence. A sincere movie about a deeply ironic and unfulfilled man as he belongs to a culture, maybe even an entire generation - terrified of sinc erity.< /p>
