Share the Earth Environmental Film Series
A monthly series of free screenings on selected Thursdays in the Union Theatre held in conjunction with Share the Earth programs in the UWM Union. These events culminate in programs focusing on recycling and environmental issues to be held during Earth Week 2008 (April 21-25). Co-sponsored by Union Programming, Union Theatre and the UWM Environmental Council.
African American Film Festival
An event celebrating Black History Month. Sponsored by the UWM Union Sociocultural Programming, UWM Union Theatre, and the Community Media Project. All screenings are FREE and open to the public. The 11th Annual Festival of Films in French
In memory of Dr. Sheldon Stone This program is made possible with the support of UWM Union Programming; the Center for International Education; the Center for 21st Century Studies; Department of French, Italian, and Comparative Literature; the Department of Film; Southeast Wisconsin Academic Alliance in French; the Alliance Francaise; LGBT Festival; Martine Meyer; Max and Sandra Dermond; and Dr. Richard Stone. Modernity and Tradition: Film in Interwar Central Europe
A series held on various Wednesdays throughout this spring at the Union Theatre to accompany the Milwaukee Art Museum’s exhibition FOTO: Modernity in Central Europe, 1918-1945. The film series, presented by MAM film and organized by the National Gallery of Art,Washington is organized into five themes: City Films; Homeland, Homeland: My Country; Avant-garde Shorts; Celluloid Myths and Celluloid Dreams;, and The Popular. Each program is presented only once, all films will be screened in 16mm or 35mm. The series is free and open to the public, donations for MAM will be accepted. Additional film programs will be held at the Milwaukee Art Museum throughout the duration of the exhibition (February 9 - May 4) .
Italian Film Festival
The Italian Film Festival of Milwaukee will screen the local premiere of five recent, critically and publicly acclaimed Italian films. Films will be shown in Italian with English subtitles.
